2007 Crucible | The making of Crucible is our pride and joy, truly a labor of love. This is the Student Vineyard of Napa Valley College, where Clark taught Advanced Winemaking for many years. In 2003, Dean of Viticulture Stephen Krebs tore out most of the Chardonnay vines from which Faux Chablis was made and planted two German cold weather clones of Cabernet Sauvignon. Clones 337 and 15 possess unusual characteristics uniquely suited to this cool emerging appellation. | $275.00 | Available
2005 Faux Chablis (Student Vineyard) | For those who have followed the Napa Valley College Student Vineyard Faux Chablis series since 2001, this wine will make perfect sense. The first thing you will notice is its color, which is very dark amber with a touch of peach, much like the fire wines Georgian Rkatsitelli sometimes produces. One can be forgiven for imagining this as oxidation, but it is not. It is simply incredible density. | $40.00 | Available

2002 Faux Chablis | I don’t like what California Chardonnay has become. Indeed, in California-based competitions, my fellow judges often trim from the pack (as “atypical”) all but the fat shallow buttery toast bombs they have resigned themselves to expect. | $100.00 | Not Available

2005 Crucible | The making of Crucible is our pride and joy, truly a labor of love. Its tiny 90 case production is the entire focus of our winemaking team during harvest. Picked at the peak of phenolic ripeness, these small berries yield tiny volumes of intensely tannic juice packed with black fruit aromas. Crucible’s profound essence of rich blueberries is a typical expression of the Coombsville district surrounding Napa town. | $500.00 | Available |
